     Mr. Sompong Choojit; the leader of Nang Talung hand-crafter’s group in Phathalung province who is also got the guarantee as the Person who have good evolves with the typical& provincial products of the year 2007. Lives in 427 Moo. 3 Khawchaison distract, phatthalung said that.

"He would like to find the new generation to continue this art. If the art of making Talung shadow play figure can be carry over by the new generation, that will be good because the old generation can anytime pass away and it will be so pity if all the art and knowledge have to disappear with him."

      Since Nang Talung shadow play is the folk performance, which show the cultural of the soutern part of Thailand and also have a beautiful figure on it,  make Mr. Sompong love to continue this job. He gather all the knowledges on how to make the figure and begin to make the figure himself which later can develop to the good product of the community and he can earn his livelihood from this art.

Sangyod Rice

      Sangyod rice is the variety of rice which originally grow only in Phatthalung province. Sangyod rice have a beautiful nature colour as dark red and violet. In the old days, Sangyod is the kind of rice we use to cook for special occasion as such when we need to welcome the senior or important person, also Sangyod is a popular souvenir for giving to the beloved one in a good   reason because Sangyod rice is a good quality of rice with a marvellous smell and good for the heath because carry lot of fibres. So this rice is a very good produce for those who are looking for organic and healthy food.

     According of the report on varieties of rice in Thailand (reported in 1950) by collected all the varieties of rice all over Thailand. Sangyod is one of variety out of 11 types, which have Phathalung province as a birthplace. Later in the year 1982 – 1986, Phathatlung province has collected all the typical type of rice in Phathalung province. Sangyod rice was found in Tamnbon Tha Mader, Khaw Chaison distract, Phatthalung. Some part of Sangyod rice has been kept in The Rice researching and delvelopping reganization in Pathumthani province and the rest has been planted in Phatthalung province.

        In the year, 2000, Queen Sirikit has visit the Sangyod’s farm in Phathalung Province and have tested it. To the Queen this variety of rice is a good product with a good test and good for health. So from that day, It’s has been known as Sangyod is become the favourite’s variety of  rice which The Queen sirikit take

     In the year 1999,   Nutrition Divishion Department of Health  Ministry of Puplic Health have make a research on Cheewajit food and found that; compare with other variety of rice, Sangyod is the variety which give more nutrition than others type because Sangyod got more fiber than others which is very good in helping the body to delivery the bad thing in body. Also Sangyod got Vitamin E more than others. Vitamin is well known as the good vitamin to reduce the age and help you to remain young. Moreover Sangyod have more protein, iron, phosphorus than others, which can make people who usually have it benefit on the blood circular, on the body of keeping fit, help in protecting the forgetfulness diseases, and with antioxidance such as oryzanol and gama aminbutyric acid make people who usually take Sangyod to be less chance of getting cancer diseases.

             So as lots of nutrition mentioned above, Sangyod is the right typical variety of rice which good for peoples in these day who have been live in the world which changing so fast, which make our mind and body too weak and got lot of diseases. Sangyod is good for anyone who are searching for good, healthy and organic life.
