SCHMIDT Coupling (link coupling)
It is a coupling realizing efficient power transmission by a compact design for power transmission by a different shaft center that was conventionally composed of a spline shaft or universal joint.
SCHMIDT coupling is a coupling for a different shaft center utilizing a crank motion of link. Motive power inputted on one end disc is transmitted to the other end disc through a link and center disc. Shaft center displacement is determined by the link length. This coupling enables parallel displacement of shaft center during rotation as well as power transmission by a different shaft center.
NSS,DL Model
The NSS and DL models are couplings for a different shaft center utilizing a crank motion of link. Motive power inputted on one end disc is transmitted to the other end disc through a link and center disc. Shaft center displacement is determined by the link length. This coupling enables parallel displacement of shaft center during rotation as well as power transmission by a different shaft center.
The standard NSS model with link number 3x2 , quasi-standard NSS model with more link number and allowable torque and DL model with link number 2x2 for coaxial operation are available. Torque transmission 49Nm to 7850Nm Maximum rotation speed 3000min-1(Depending on the size)
When transmitting power between shafts with different centers, which have traditionally been constituted of a spline shaft and a universal joint, Schmidt couplings can be used to efficiently transmit power in a compact form factor. Schmidt couplings are couplings with different shaft centers that use the crank motion of a link. They not only allow power transmission when shaft centers are different, they also enable translation of shaft centers while rotating.
