With the old features of the Nintendogs where you can call your pet by name, talk to them, and make them do tricks by talking to your DS system, you can now interact with them using facial expressions. The 3DS uses a built in camera to detect your facial expression and makes the experience more realistic.

But it’s only a game? Well, the internal clock of the DS system allows your pet to get hungrier or dirtier as time goes by so it’s very realistic.

With the introduction of the Nintendogs + Cats 3D, they have introduced new breeds of dogs and even cats. The initial preview given by Nintendo showed pets such as a beagle, golden retriever and a Yorkie puppy that you could adopt and play with.
